The City of New Bern’s rescue boat was damaged during the significant number of rescues performed during Hurricane Florence. Damage to the vessel includes several holes in a speed tube (under the boat) and a heavily leaking valve. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds will be used to replace the boat. FEMA Public Assistance and insurance are not available for this project.
