Description:

Flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew resulted in a slope failure at the wastewater treatment plant in Red Springs. The lab and storage buildings at the plant also experienced roof damage. FEMA evaluated the damage but has not yet reimbursed the town. Golden LEAF Hurricane Matthew Disaster Recovery grant funds will pay for repairs at the at the wastewater treatment plant that are not reimbursed by FEMA. Golden LEAF Hurricane Matthew Disaster Recovery grant funds will also be used to install back-up generators at three water supply wells serving the town.
