This grant provided funding to Henderson County Public Schools to help create a digital learning environment to improve instruction through personalized learning. During this project, teachers received professional development from the Friday Institute and from internal staff. The grantee expanded the scope of its previous high school pilot initiative to its middle schools. Additionally, the project complimented prior work of the district and Blue Ridge CC to establish career pathways in advanced manufacturing and healthcare and aligns the NC Department of Commerce’s STAR Job Report for the Western Region Prosperity Zone, which forecasted growth in healthcare and advanced manufacturing fields. Golden LEAF funds were used for professional development and training costs.
