Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Burke County Public Schools for implementation of a one-to-one digital learning initiative for its middle school students and teachers. Over the past three years, the district has developed a vision for digital learning that started with the incorporation of devices and enhanced learning in the elementary grades. Burke County Public Schools proposes growing its digital learning initiative to include all its middle schools. Outcomes of the project include individual student growth as reflected in their digital portfolio, improvements in math proficiency scores, and increased use of technology as an educational tool. Golden LEAF funds will be used for the purchase of devices for middle school students and their teachers.
