Description:

This grant provides funding to the Town of Oakboro to construct water infrastructure necessary to support the relocation of Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company from Charlotte to Oakboro in Stanly County. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company will retain 400 of the jobs from its Charlotte plant at the Oakboro location. The jobs pay, on average, $88,125, compared to the county average of $33,102. The company will also make over $325 million in capital investment in Stanly County. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry was also considering locating this facility in South Carolina.
