The Triangle Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) station was flooded by Hurricane Florence. Due to the age of the building, the cost for repair is greater than the value of the building. The Triangle VFD will construct a new facility outside of the floodplain. Golden LEAF grant funds will be used towards construction of the new station. Insurance proceeds were used toward immediate repair of the station. A loan secured by Triangle VFD will be used to acquire land and prepare the site.
