This purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to support construction of a facility to house Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department’s behavioral health and telepsychiatry services. Initially, this pilot project will offer ECU-based telepsychiatry services and additional counseling services provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker shared with Hyde County and Albemarle Regional Health Services. A grant from ECU will also allow additional hours of telepsychiatry to expand services to Beaufort and Edgecombe counties. As demand for services increase, regional service providers participating in the pilot may hire and share a psychiatric provider for the region, based at this centrally-located facility. This expansion of services will create at least three new healthcare-related jobs, and is anticipated to create additional positions in medication-assisted therapy services.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
