This Golden LEAF grant provided funding to the City of Graham to extend Melville Commerce Parkway, a public road located in the North Carolina Commerce Park in Alamance County. The German retailer Lidl located its east coast headquarters and distribution center at the Park. Lidl planned to invest $150,000,000 in the project and create 80 full-time jobs with an average annual salary of $80,000 plus benefits in addition to part-time and seasonal jobs. The road provides redundant access to the site and serves several other properties.
