Description:

Hurricane Matthew caused a significant amount of debris to accumulate in Cross Creek located in Fayetteville. Debris lodged under bridges and in culverts poses a danger from a damming effect if another flood occurs. This Golden LEAF grant will enable the City of Fayetteville to remove and dispose of debris from Cross Creek. Debris removal is critical to allow further structural review of infrastructure damaged by the hurricane. Improvements will also help reduce future flooding.
