Organization:
City of Fayetteville
Amount:
$175,997.98
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Cumberland
Year:
2017
Description:

Hurricane Matthew caused a large section of Fayetteville’s Cross Creek bank to shear off and slide into the creek. Three city-owned buildings and 25 city-owned grave sites are at risk should the bank further destabilize. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funding will support efforts to stabilize the buildings and provide the required match for Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) funding. FEMA, NRCS, and other available funds are not sufficient to complete this project without Golden LEAF support.
