Pender County provided disaster relief and assistance to residents throughout the county. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund was used to provide rental assistance through the Pender County Housing Department. Priority was given to low-income families. Pender County also partnered with the Baptists on Mission and Team Rubicon to assist with home repairs throughout the county. The volunteer organizations provided a list of needed supplies, including work gloves, insulation, sheetrock mud, and eye protection. These organizations also identified a need for portable restrooms at job sites. The county identified a need to remove debris from mucked-out homes. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund was used to purchase these supplies, rent portable restrooms, and support debris removal.
