The purpose of this grant was to provide funding to Hoke County Schools for a project to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in their community. The district created an Allied Health Curriculum Pathways program to prepare students for postsecondary opportunities and/or employment in the healthcare field through licensures, certifications, credentials, and through courses that resulted in college credit. The project was implemented in partnership with local universities and healthcare facilities. The grant was used to establish two 21st-century allied health sciences labs, a biomedical tech classroom, and a fully equipped clinic that offered work-based learning experiences.
