Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Blue Ridge Community College to purchase simulation lab equipment for its new state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center anticipated to be completed in July 2016. Blue Ridge Community College, Pardee Hospital, Henderson County Public Schools and Wingate University are collaborating to locate Allied Health training programs in the center. The clinical simulation labs will be used by the partner organizations to train workers in a variety of Allied Health programs and assist students with applying skills in simulated health scenarios to stress integrated health service delivery. The SimLab is projected to be used initially by over 500 students and healthcare system employees. Golden LEAF funds will be used for laboratory equipment and associated technology.
