Habitat for Humanity acts as a central agency for disseminating disaster relief funding for their affiliates across the state, most recently following Hurricane Matthew and the tornadoes in Greensboro. Habitat for Humanity has identified six affiliates that have either seen significant damage to their Habitat homes or, if their Habitat homes were spared, have witnessed devastation in their local areas and are receiving requests from local citizens and governmental bodies for their help in the rebuilding process. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund will be used to support repair and rebuilding through: Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity of Craven County, Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity, Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity, and Habitat for Humanity of Scotland County. Habitat for Humanity estimates serving at least 30 households in each community.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
