This grant provides funding to Alamance County for Alamance County Cooperative Extension to purchase farm equipment and construct an equipment shed needed to develop a demonstration farm. This project will allow Cooperative Extension to conduct small plot research on farms in the county and help farmers make decisions about which crops to produce, and learn how to produce crops more profitably. The project will be implemented by purchasing equipment, creating field crop research plots, and working with local growers, state specialists, and local seed representatives to determine and demonstrate which agricultural practices are most beneficial for the area.
