Hurricane Matthew destroyed Fair Bluff’s Town Hall, Police Department, Visitor’s Center, and Public Works Department. Town employees worked from rented facilities or their vehicles. FEMA funding was not sufficient to replace these facilities. The Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds supported the renovation of an existing building located outside of the floodplain, owned by Fair Bluff, to serve as the Town Hall, Police Department, and Visitor’s Center. Funds also supported the construction of an office for the Public Works Department.
