Weatherstone Park Apartments along Elizabeth Avenue experience frequent flooding due to an undersized culvert downstream. As a result, water overtops the parking lot and nearby roads causing residents to be trapped in their homes and flooding damage to lower-elevation homes. New Bern proposes to replace the culverts downstream with a larger culvert. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used for construction. Households and businesses in the immediate project area will benefit from this project.
