The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Davidson County Community College (DCCC) for state-of-the-art educational technology and training equipment for DCCC’s future health sciences center. The DCCC Health Sciences Center will enhance the college’s ability to provide premier healthcare education and supply highly-trained workers to regional healthcare facilities. The 48,386-square-foot center will co-locate DCCC’s current health programs and provide a collaborative educational environment. Additional educational technology and equipment is expected to cost more than $1 million over the $12 million construction cost. Classes are expected begin in August 2018. The center is important to the semi-rural area, which has had major declines in traditional manufacturing.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
