Description:

This grant provides funding to Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center (RCCHC) to open and operate a medical clinic in the former Washington County Medical Clinic building in Creswell, NC. The facility is now vacant, leaving the eastern half of Washington County without any medical access and forcing patients to travel 25 miles or more for medical care. RCCHC expects to create six new full-time jobs in Creswell. RCCHC received approval of its Change in Scope to add Creswell and Roper to its service area. Golden LEAF funds will pay for personnel, medical and IT equipment, and other expenses.
