This grant funded Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center (RCCHC) to open and operate a medical clinic in the former Washington County Medical Clinic building in Creswell. At the time of application, the facility was vacant, leaving the eastern half of Washington County without any medical access and forcing patients to travel 25 miles or more for medical care. RCCHC had received approval of its Change in Scope to add Creswell and Roper to its service area. As a result of opening the clinic, RCCHC created seven new full-time jobs in Creswell. Golden LEAF funds paid for personnel, medical and IT equipment, and other expenses.
