The Grifton and Highway 11 pump stations owned and operated by the Contentnea Metropolitan Sewerage District have been subjected to frequent flooding, most recently as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funding will support improvements to the Grifton pump station and relocation of the Highway 11 pump station. These improvements will enable the pump stations to maintain operations in a future flood event.
