City of Dunn Assessment of Inflow and Infiltration

Organization:
City of Dunn
Amount:
$506,086.00
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Harnett
Year:
2019
Description:

Following Hurricane Florence, the metered average monthly flow of Dunn’s sewer collection system nearly doubled. The town believes that excessive pressure during Hurricane Florence compromised its sewer infrastructure, causing increased inflow and infiltration. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds will be used for professional fees to assess the town’s sewer infrastructure, identify areas of damage, and recommend repairs and for costs related to engineering and construction to repair sewer infrastructure damaged as a result of Hurricane Florence. The town recently received an Asset Inventory Assessment grant award from the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality that will contribute to the success of this project.
