This grant provided funding to Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) to expand the capacity of the Catawba Valley Furniture Academy which houses a simulated furniture factory to train workers in skills needed by the industry. With the additional capacity, CVCC was expected to nearly triple enrollment at the Furniture Academy to better meet the demands of furniture manufactures for skilled employees. Golden LEAF funds were used for staffing, equipment, and computers.
