The Olympia Volunteer Fire Department station was damaged as a result of wind and flooding caused by Hurricane Florence. Due to the building’s age, repairs were not feasible. The Olympia VFD will construct a new station on higher elevation. Golden LEAF disaster recovery grant funds will be used for design/engineering, site work, and construction of the replacement station. Insurance proceeds and donated funds will be used to complete the project.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
