Description:

The Blounts Creek area in the City of Fayetteville experiences frequent flooding. The city has identified this project as one of its key priorities in its Watershed Master Plan. Flooding along the creek has led to stream erosion and flooding of roadways. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used to gather data and for field inspection and survey, model updates, and conceptual design. The project includes floodplain management and stream enhancement for approximately 4,000 feet of Blounts Creek. The city currently has a stormwater management program to support the long-term success of this project. Households, businesses, and other entities in the project area will benefit from the project.
