$243,406.00
Program Area:
Flood Mitigation and Recovery Program
County of Applicant:
Duplin
Year:
2024
Description:

The major intersection of Highways 24 and 41 experiences frequent flooding during heavy rain events resulting in road overtopping causing delays and rerouting of traffic, including emergency services. Beulaville requests engineering and construction funding to alleviate the bottleneck downstream of the intersection. The town proposes to replace the Gresham Street culvert with larger pipes, widen and stabilize approximately 600 linear feet of canal bank, and repair areas of road erosion. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used for engineering and construction. Households, businesses, and public/private entities located in the affected area will benefit from completion of this project.
