Beaver Dam Ditch Repair and Stabilization Project-Area A

Organization:
Town of Princeton
Amount:
$497,874.00
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Johnston
Year:
2017
Description:

Flooding from Hurricane Matthew eroded the banks of the Beaver Dam Ditch in the Town of Princeton and damaged the aging infrastructure on North Center Street. Princeton applied for and received FEMA Public Assistance for the infrastructure repairs, but funds were not sufficient to repair damage in the Beaver Dam Ditch. Princeton and outlying areas drain to the Beaver Dam Ditch. This drainage area includes 228 homes and 52 businesses as well as a portion of US Highway 70. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funding will be used to support repairs and mitigate against future damage of the ditch.
