A team of State officials, federal advisors, the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness, Managed Care Organizations, and local nonprofits in disaster declared counties are implementing a recovery program to serve those with no path out of the disaster shelters. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund will be used to provide “move in kits” including furniture and other household items to families able to secure housing through this program. Grant funds will also be used to support reassignment of an existing staff person to manage requests and order items for each kit. The Coalition anticipates 200 households will benefit from these kits.
