This award provides funding to Anson County Schools to expand the existing Agriculture Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs in the areas of animal sciences, agriculture sciences, and natural resources. This project will provide opportunities for Anson County Schools to expand curriculum offerings to include new courses and specialized training in areas such as hydroponics, sustainable farming practices, and agribusiness management. Upfitted labs and training equipment will provide students with hands-on learning experiences. Students will also participate in work-based learning opportunities at local agricultural businesses and farms and participate in field trips to regional agribusinesses. Forty-five students are expected to complete a CTE pathway in animal sciences, agriculture sciences, or natural resources per year. Golden LEAF funds will be used for equipment, supplies, personnel, and transportation costs.
