Description:

Hurricane Matthew damaged or destroyed a significant amount of available affordable housing in Robeson County. The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, through its 501(c)(3) nonprofit Lumbee Land Development, Inc., will develop a total of 50 new housing units in three new single-family housing developments outside of the floodplain. Most of the funding for the project will be provided through existing non-disaster-related programs. This Golden LEAF grant will support extension of water and sewer infrastructure to the new housing developments.
