This grant provided Carteret Community College with funding to establish an Automotive Technology Program. Automotive dealerships and automotive repair facilities in the area struggled to identify and hire qualified, trained technicians. The automotive program prepares individuals to diagnose, repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. The College has identified demand for over 220 employees at local dealerships and repair facilities over the next five years. Golden LEAF funds were used for equipment and tools.
