Genesis 457 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Community Development Corporation established in 2013 to respond to long term recovery issues following Hurricane Irene. Genesis 457 responded following Hurricane Matthew and developed partnerships with the area Long Term Recovery groups, the churches, and other community partners to assist underserved communities. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund will be used to support direct assistance to survivors including food, water, replacement of personal property, rental assistance, utilities assistance, and home repair as well as two part-time case managers and other administrative expenses. Genesis 457 will assist families in Craven, Pamlico, and Jones Counties.
