Jala joined the Golden LEAF Foundation as a Scholarship Program Associate in May 2025. In her current role, she is responsible for outreach to Golden LEAF Scholars, implementing campaigns for digital engagement, managing scholarship inventory, and supporting the implementation of alumni engagement.
She previously served as an intern for Golden LEAF as a Scholarship Program Intern in Spring 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025. She also served as an intern at the North Carolina Department of Revenue during the summer of 2024. Before joining Golden LEAF, she served as a Front Desk Representative at Wingate by Wyndham, focusing on hospitality and customer service.
Jala was born in Elizabeth City but was raised in Plymouth. She currently lives in Williamston with family. She received her associates degree in Business Administration in 2023 from Martin Community College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University in May 2025.
