Description:

The purpose of this grant is to assist the Wireless Research Center of North Carolina (WRCNC) with the purchase of large test chamber that will increase its capacity to meet identified industry demand for testing and research capacity to develop wireless technologies and allow it to secure additional revenue needed for sustainability. WRCNC was established in January 2010 through a development grant from the Town of Wake Forest and serves as a catalyst for economic development for companies and universities involved in antenna and wireless device research, development, and testing. WRCNC projects that with additional testing and research capabilities it can assist in the development of 300 to 400 jobs across the state in the next 3 years. WRCNC has provided evidence of demand for its services from a variety of North Carolina-based companies, including several in rural areas of the State.
