This grant will support Wilson County Schools, in partnership with Wilson Community College and local industries, to create an academy of applied technology aimed at closing the skills gap identifed by area employers. This project will help Wilson County Schools create an educational environment that replicates industry work environments. Golden LEAF funding will be used for renovations at Beddingfield High School and to install equipment to support industry skills requirements. Golden LEAF funds will be used as a dollar for dollar match, up to $750,000.
