Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will assist in the expansion of an existing cold storage facility located in the Stony Point area of rural Iredell County that will offer new markets in agricultural development to farmers in the Piedmont area of central North Carolina. Funds will be used for water tank construction to meet the NC Fire Code demands, waterline extension and sewer capacity and extension. Millard Refrigerated Services’ (Millard) will initially offer cold storage, blast freezing and distribution for the poultry industry. This project will create a minimum of 30 new jobs.
