Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the City of Asheboro for installation of a methane digester at its waste water treatment plant. The methane captured would be used to create electricity. The project would save the City approximately $22,000 per month in electrical costs and would facilitate the processing of waste water created by MOM Brands and other potential food processing companies. The total project cost is approximately $800,000. The City will contribute all necessary funds not provided by Golden LEAF.
