Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Bent Creek Institute, Inc. (BCI) to establish the US Botanical Safety Laboratory (USBSL) which will provide botanical testing services for NC growers, processors, and natural products manufacturers, and others. The lab will help meet regulatory requirements and validate properties of natural products, thereby assisting the North Carolina natural products industry. BCI is operating USBSL with the cooperation of the Bent Creek Germplasm Repository, the NC BioNetwork BioBusiness Lab, and the David H. Murdock Research Institute. Golden LEAF funds will be used for personnel, equipment, validation, travel, and other costs.
