Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for Morehead Memorial Hospital to establish an urgent care program/facility in Mayodan, NC, located in western Rockingham County. The long-term goal of the site is to provide primary care services in the area. This area qualifies under the Heath Resources and Services Administration as both medically underserved and as a Health Professional Shortage Community. The facility would be located in a commercial shopping center which would make it accessible to residents in neighboring communities of Madison and Stoneville and the surrounding area. Golden LEAF funds will help pay for equipment needed to upgrade the urgent care center. The project will create five full-time jobs.
