Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will provide a third year of funding for the NC Agricultural Foundation/NC 4-H’s Camp Challenge. The purpose of this project is to educate, equip, and encourage disadvantaged, middle school youth from tobacco-dependent counties to develop financial literacy and learn about sustainable agriculture and related careers in addition to traditional careers in their counties. This grant will allow the final 90 youth to participate in Camp Challenge II and Weekend Academies and complete the pilot program.
