Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Toe River Arts Council (TRAC) for the upfit of their building in downtown Spruce Pine in order to expand their services to established and emerging artists and craftspeople in Mitchell County and the region. Expanded services will include programming targeted at small business training, technology training, marketing and networking assistance and branding. The project will serve the 400 artists and their assistants who live and work in the area. Golden LEAF funds will leverage $100,000 in local funds and will be used to renovate, and make fire and safety compliant, the second story of TRAC’s existing Spruce Pine downtown storefront.
