Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Town of Edenton to install an elevator into a Town-owned building to make the second floor of the building accessible by business tenants and the public. The City has identified a company Standard Medical Acceptance Corporation (the ‘Company’) as a potential tenant for the space. The Company has developed an information technology package that allows medical providers to more accurately value their receivables and helps lenders assess the value of collateral with higher levels of confidence in the underlying assets. SMA is currently operating in New York City and will relocate six employees to Edenton and create 28 new jobs for a total of 34 jobs. The average annual wage of the positions would be $69,853, plus benefits, compared to a county average wage of $35,308.
