Description:

This grant will support Opportunities Industrialization Center’s HOPE (Having Options Pursuing Excellence) Project, a program for students who are in short-term suspension. The program will serve as an alternative to out-of-school suspension and help keep students engaged in a productive learning environment. Golden LEAF funds will support the program’s expansion to middle schools in the Nash-Rocky Mount School System that serve Edgecombe County residents and to students living in Rocky Mount who attend high school in the Edgecombe County Public School system.
