The goals of this grant are to: 1) design regional economic development strategies to support tobacco farmers in their communities; 2) engage communities in proactive efforts to support their tobacco farmer neighbors; and 3) preserve the rural quality of life for all community residents by assisting tobacco-dependent farmers as they transition from tobacco to other crops.
