The purpose of this grant is to support Nash County’s efforts to extend water service near Whitakers to serve SePRO Corporation and others. SePRO is an agricultural chemical company that currently has seven employees at its Nash County facility. The water extension will provide sufficient water flow to allow SePRO to place fire suppression sprinklers in a recently constructed building on its campus. The sprinklers are required by the building code. When SePRO is able to occupy the building, it will create 11 new jobs with an average salary of $35,000/yr. The total cost of the project is $450,000.
