This award provides funding to the Johnston Community College Foundation to launch an AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy at Johnston Community College. The program will prepare students for high-demand healthcare careers while helping meet regional workforce needs and improve access to respiratory care. JCC expects enrollment to grow from 20 students in Fall 2026 to 40 students, with 18 students completing the program annually by the 2027-28 school year. Golden LEAF funds will support specialized equipment and instructional technology.
