NRWASA has four raw water intake screens installed in the Neuse River. While periodic dredging has been required to prevent sediment from entering the intake, flooding during Hurricane Matthew moved the encroaching sediment bar significantly closer to the intake, resulting in sediment uptake. Golden LEAF Hurricane Matthew Disaster Recovery grant funds will be used to support construction of additional intake screens downstream.
