The purpose of this grant is provide funding to Montgomery County to meet the critical need of vacuum line replacement and stabilization of the raw water bank (seawall) at the intake site for the Montgomery County Water System on Lake Tillery. Failure of the seawall and intake piping or priming system would result in the immediate inability to withdraw raw water from Lake Tillery and provide water to the system’s 20,000 customers. Golden LEAF funds would be used for the demolition and re-construction of the raw water bank seawall and the vacuum line replacement.
