Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will be used by Asheboro City School System to transform teaching and learning in grades 4-9 science classes through 3 goals: (1) provide intensive professional development to science teachers; (2) focus on rising 9th graders through targeted preparation for success in STEM courses; and, (3) support cohorts of middle school students from North and South Asheboro Middle Schools to participate in summer and after school enrichment activities in partnership with Randolph CC. Student experiences will include biotechnology, industrial technology, machining and green energy.
