This grant will allow Greenville Utility Commission (GUC) to extend water and sewer service to serve Grover Gaming, Inc. and its sister company, Banilla Games, Inc. Grover Gaming is a manufacturer of electronic gaming (lotteries and charitable gambling) that is used throughout the United States and Canada. Its headquarters are currently located in Pitt County. The company has been growing rapidly and is in the top 200 of Inc. magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in North America. This project will allow Grover Gamin to expand its headquarters in Pitt County, creating an additional 200 jobs in the next five years and making a capital investment of approximately $15 million. The new jobs would pay on average $55,975/year, compared to the county average of $41,008, and would offer 100% of health insurance to full-time employees. Many of the jobs are skilled programming and coding jobs, and the company works closely with ECU and Pitt Community College to develop a pipeline of talent to fill the positions. The proposed sewer infrastructure would serve a total of 365 acres, while the water infrastructure would serve 160 acres and have the potential to create a looped line to improve the water system in the area.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
